“Everything we create starts in our mind” –Dr. Juna Bobby
Dr. Bobby will share the Three Keys to a Resilient Brain, starting with Stress. Stress promotes a physiologic state that changes our chemistry down to the cellular level — even changing our brain structure. Stress can be a very positive force when it leads to positive change. Chronic stress, though, can act as a toxin to our brains, and growing brains are especially susceptible.
She will discuss the basic mechanics of neuroplasticity and the physiology of stress and resilience, and share three key strategies to transform from stressed to resilient with highlights from her new course — “Plan to SOAR” (Successful Organized And Resilient).
About Dr. Juna Bobby: Dr. Bobby is a mom of two amazing kids and a board-certified physician specializing in Mind-Body Medicine. She is the host of the Rx Chill Pill Podcast and a faculty member at The Juilliard School NYC (Pre-College), where she teaches her year-round course, The Science of Resilience for Peak Performance and Happiness.
In 2013, she founded MindBodySpace LLC to educate kids and young adults through STEM-based Resilience Skills. She is a frequent guest lecturer at The Manhattan School of Music, Family Services of Westchester, and is a partner for Revolution School, an innovative high school in Philadelphia. In 2014 she launched the Wellness program for medical students at NYU and workshops for stress management at Columbia Law School. She has lectured at many other schools and medical centers including Mount Sinai and Yale. Juna completed her MD and residency training at NYU School of Medicine and earned her certification to teach Stress Management and Resiliency Training at the Benson-Henry Institute, Harvard Medical School.
