Moderated by Larchmont resident Lori Rotskoff, in this special online event writers Abby Stein and Amber Scorah will share their personal stories of growing up in insular religious communities, and embarking on liberating journeys of self-transformation. Abby Stein was raised as a boy in a Hasidic Jewish community in Brooklyn, while Amber Scorah was born a third-generation Jehovah’s Witness in Canada, and then lived as a missionary in China. In a conversation moderated by Lori they will shed light on their shifting religious and personal identities–and the losses and gains they accrued along the way. The event includes a live, online Q &A with the authors.
