Nia Technique: Nia is a full-body workout that is easy on the joints, promoting flexibility, agility, mobility, stability, and strength. Combining movements and concepts from yoga, tai chi, tae kwon do, aikido, jazz, modern dance, and other movement forms, Nia offers many fitness benefits. We’ll begin with warm-up exercises, practice cardiovascular movements, and learn dance techniques that teach us how to move with grace and fluidity. Movements will be modified to accommodate physical limitations, and those who wish to participate by sitting in chairs for some or all of the class are welcome to do so. Please wear comfortable clothing to class.
