| Advanced English - Reading Fiction | Leslie Blank |
| Expand your vocabulary, use American idioms and refine your understanding of the fine points of grammar while enjoying a witty satire of America’s college application process. Reading and discussing Acceptance by Susan Coll, you will follow three fictional high school seniors and their parents through a stressful and funny year of tests, applications and college visits. Students are responsible for purchasing the book on their own, which is available on-line.

| This class, for advanced level students, involves lectures and discussions on United States literary, political, social and cultural history. We will explore history through excerpts of American fiction, non-fiction, poetry and music from Native America through 1850. Classes will include both structured conversations and open forums. Practicing your conversation skills is encouraged.
