As individual cameras may vary widely, to get the most out of this class, please become familiar with your camera’s user manual. There will be limited time at the end to cover questions on individual cameras, so bring both your fully charged camera and its manual. | Buying a Digital Camera | David Stein |
| The quality of digital cameras continues to improve while prices continue to decline. We’ll discuss your photographic needs and examine the advantages and disadvantages of a broad spectrum of digital cameras; from low cost point-and-shoot pocket-sized models to high quality digital single lens reflex (SLR) models. After this course, you’ll be able to make an informed decision about what is the best camera for you. David Stein is a Larchmont based photographer. His prize winning photographs have been exhibited widely throughout the Northeast, including the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C.

| This workshop is designed for the novice who has a camera but needs help getting started. We will introduce you to your digital camera and you’ll learn the basic functions; from preparing to take pictures to viewing the results. Bring your fully charged camera and instruction manual to class. | Fundamentals - SLR Digital Cameras - Tuesdays | Charles Seton |
| This class will help you move beyond shooting in the "Auto" mode on your Digital SLR. You will learn the basics of using your camera including menus and settings, interchangeable lenses, shutter speed and aperture, metering, focus and white balance. You will also critique your own work. Bring your SLR and all lenses/accessories, instruction manual and some photos to the first class. It is recommended that you take the “Mastering Your Digital Camera” class first. Course includes 5 classes and one field-trip. | Photography - Beyond the Fundamentals | Charles Seton |
| Each student will choose his/her own project to pursue and through group critiques, we will help refine that project through discussion of techniques such as cropping, RAW capture, conversion to Black and White and more. Prerequisite for this class is Fundamentals of Photography or equivalent. Before the first class, you should have an idea for your project in mind, but if you don’t, we’ll help you develop it. | Picasa: Organize Your Digital Photos | Charles Seton |
| Downloading digital pictures from your camera to the computer can be a challenge. Picasa, a free(!) download from Google, is an easy-to-understand program for downloading, organizing, fixing up and sharing your photos. In this class, we will go over the major features of Picasa, including useful tips and tricks for improving your pictures and creating slideshows and web albums. It is helpful, but not necessary, to bring a laptop with Picasa and some pictures downloaded to it. Charles Seton is a Mamaroneck-based professional photographer and teacher.
