Introduction to Chinese Medical TheoryMei-Sang Hsieh
Learn the fundamental concepts of the ancient healing system of China. With over 2000 years of history, Chinese medical theory provides us a different view of human physiology and pathology. This understanding can give us insights into our own body. This course discusses the concepts of Qi, Yin / Yang, 5 element theory, the 12 organ systems, and the basic trajectory of the 12 meridians and some key acupressure points. Mei-Sang Hsieh is board certified and a NY state licensed Acupuncturist and massage therapist with over 14 years of experience. She has a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and has a local private practice.

Acupressure Massage for Health Mei-Sang Hsieh
Acupressure massage is a traditional Chinese healing art that uses the palms and fingers to press on muscles and key acupressure points to stimulate the body's self healing. This therapy can release muscular tension, promote circulation, increase range of motion and induce relaxation. This course covers basic palpation and massage techniques, proper body mechanics and stretching techniques. Participants should be able to kneel on the floor, and willing to work on each other. Please wear loose comfortable clothing and bring a sleeping bag or a cushy mat to class. Mei-Sang Hsieh is board certified and a NY state licensed Acupuncturist and massage therapist with over 14 years of experience. She has a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and maintains a local private practice.

Yet it's really quite simple, as this program will demonstrate. Learn an efficient yet profound tool for enhancing everyday living. If you are a beginner, it will be an easy, practical way to see what meditation can do for you. If you're experienced, it's a chance to refresh your practices and expand perspectives. Merrill Harmin is a Professor Emeritus of Education and Psychology. He is a life-long practitioner of meditation.

Principal drivers will receive at least a 10% reduction in automobile liability, collision and no-fault insurance premiums for three years and a deduction of four points. The course may be taken every 18 months for point reduction.

Courtly Canines: Basic Dog Obedience Kate Connick
Being a dog owner can be a source of joy and great companionship. However, your dog needs to be well trained and socialized to cultivate good habits. This class will teach you effective methods for training your dog in basic obedience skills such as sit, down, heel, walking on a leash without pulling, jumping on people and coming when called. Dogs who are aggressive towards other dogs or humans will NOT be permitted. No dogs at first class. Kate Connick is a professional dog trainer and owner of Courteous Canines, LLC. More than one person per family is permitted.

The Alexander Technique Joy Jacobson
The Alexander Technique is a dynamic process of body learning that is beneficial for people having back, neck or shoulder pain, arthritis, repetitive strain injuries, and breathing or postural problems. It is also used by performing artists and athletes to refine and improve their skills. In this introductory class, you will learn to reduce stress and improve posture, breathing, and coordination while effortlessly perform simple tasks such as walking, sitting, bending and speaking. Joy Jacobson, formerly a dancer and personal fitness trainer, was certified by The American Center for the Alexander Technique in 1992. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a mat to class.

Considered a “must” for parents, grandparents and caregivers, this infant/child CPR class covers choking emergencies, first aid, accident prevention and household safety. Au Pairs and teenage babysitters are welcome. Dr. Ernest Patti is board certified in emergency medicine and is the Director of the Department of Emergency Medicine at St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx, a Level 1 Trauma Center.
