We don’t have to look far to find talented people.  They live in our community and LMCCE is fortunate to have many energetic and committed local residents as members of its teaching faculty.

Leslie Blank and Mike DiGennaro are two examples.  Both are longtime local residents and have been members of LMCCE’s faculty for many years. Leslie is multi-talented.  She began teaching English as a Second Language to foreign students before adding Short Stories and Lunch with the News classes to her repertoire.  Most of the five classes she teaches sell out each term and have wait lists!  Her intellect, dedication, and in-depth subject knowledge are traits that make Leslie an excellent teacher. Mike is also a committed LMCCE instructor.  Before teaching our wildly popular Independent Film class, he led groups of students during the summer to Broadway shows!  His preparation and knowledge of each film he presents is apparent and adds to the joy of viewing them.  He has taught us all the definition of “film appreciation.”

We’re also privileged to have many trained and talented artists share their enthusiasm for the arts.  Many of our faculty members are also trained to teach; Michael Dollar (Ceramics), Rosemarie Messina (Sewing), and Emily Dombroff (Creating Videos Using Your DSLR Camera) teach at the Mamaroneck High School.  Helen Honig, Hope Friedland and Quincy Egginton all hold higher degrees in Art Education.     

Experts in their field are eager to share their knowledge and passion of the subjects they teach; from professional photographers, golfers, singers, and journalists to certified financial advisors, Silver Master bridge instructors, Master Gardeners, and licensed contractors.  All of our language arts teachers are native speakers and have been teaching for many years. Our fitness instructors are a dedicated and compassionate group; their students have greatly benefited from their classes and sign up term after term.

We’re impressed and proud of our teacher’s accomplishments and credentials, as well as those from prospective instructors.  The fact that they live right here in our community is a bonus!  Our program is constantly evolving and we’re always looking for quality teachers.
